Hey all, good tidings from britian (lol)
I am sick of this job situation, been unemployed on the dole for 1.5 years now. got hit at the beginning of all this ****storm.
I am exactly the same, a Brit who has been unemployed for 1.5 years (will be that next month anyway). I am looking to apply for the Royal Navy at the start of next year as I am well fed up with my current career prospects and also I am sick of my social life where I am at, have plenty of friends but they do not want to do anything with their life and it just drags me down.
Going into the forces seems to be a good option especially in the current economic climate, but you need to make sure you get a trade. Look at the different jobs within the Army and think about how the training, experience and qualifications would benefit you on the civilian job scene. You want a trade which you can leave the forces with but still carry on a career. Have a look around for web forums that are specifically for members of the British Army and see what current serving members have to say. Get plenty of information about the different roles available and research them, ask current serving people in these roles what they think about the job (again forums are good for this). Take whatever your Army Careers Advisor tells you with a pinch of salt as they are salesmen and salesmen are almost always bias. For the Navy I have been reading the forums at www.navy-net.co.uk as well as reading up on the official Navy website.
Why are you looking at joining the Army by the way? Just curious as to why the Army and not the RAF or Navy. Just curious.

Originally by: Wendat Huron This is how it works, excess men funneled into armed services to go die someplace and not be a burden on society, all very clean.
There are amarr holders, the rich and there are minmatar expendables, you.
Hey I remember you from the 'new sniper record' thread. Snipers are cowards and now people who join the forces are all going to die and no-longer be a burden on society. GTFO you small minded little prick. If you can't post something constructive then why bother posting at all.
To the OP: Found some forums that should be handy here.
